Peter Signs Measure to Help Fight Autism

Peter understands that Missourians with Autism face daily challenges that only those individuals and their loved ones can truly understand.

That is why Peter believes it is vitally important that the state do everything it can to help those individuals, including children, and their families cope with Autism Spectrum Disorders.

So today, in his role as acting governor,  Peter  signed legislation into law creating the Missouri Commission on Autism Spectrum Disorders to advise the Governor and legislators on matters relating to Autism.

The commission must also develop a comprehensive statewide plan for an integrated system of training, treatment and services for individuals of all ages with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Peter remains hopeful that the new legislation will help improve the quality of life for thousands of Missourians and their loved ones coping with Autism.
